Frequently Asked Questions

What size is a single bed doona?

Our single bed size doonas are 140cm x 210cm.

This is a standard size used across Australia.

You can view our full size guide here.

Can you wash a doona?

The short answer is yes, however, for minor spills etc. a simple spot clean will suffice.

For bigger stains, machine wash cold with a mild detergent, and include an extra rinse cycle.

Finally, Tumble Dry low until thoroughly dry. Do not dry clean a down doona as that can ruin the natural quality of the down inside.

If your doona does not move in the washer or dryer, professionally launder it.

Can you put a doona in the dryer?

Putting down in the dryer can actually be a good thing as it will help the down fluff up!

After washing your doona, we always recommend to tumble dry low until it is thoroughly dry. This will make sure that the down inside becomes fluffy and luxurious again! For even better performance include dryer/tennis balls to fluff the down.

If your doona does not move in the dryer, take it to get professionally laundered so that it can dry thoroughly.

Can you tumble dry a doona?

Tumble drying a doona or quilt can be a good thing as it will help the down fluff up!

After washing your doona, we always recommend to tumble dry it on low. This ensures the down inside becomes fluffy and luxurious again! For even better performance add dryer/tennis balls to fluff the down as it spins.

If your doona does not move in the tumble dryer, take it to get professionally.

What to do with my old doona?

You've bought a new doona and you're not sure what to do with your old one? Rather than collecting dust in your closet, or even contributing to landfill, let's give it to someone in need.

To GIVIT

To donate to GIVIT, your doona should be free from stains, tears, or damage. That means no yellow splotches, no rips and definitely no hot chocolate spills. You will also need to professionally launder your doona before you donate it.

To RSPCA

To donate to RSPCA, your doona can be in moderate or poor condition. It will be used by RSPCA for animal bedding and therefore cannot contain feathers.
